WQ6X: The Case of the Broken Phase Cable

After-contest reflection s& evaluations often bring discoveries ("for next time") about various
occurrences that occurred during that contest weekend.  The evaluations for a single 48-hour
contest may be quite different than for a weekend arrayed with multiple contest offerings.

In a recent 160-meter contest, time was spent calling CQ, monitoring the RBN spots and looking at WHO actually called in on the run frequencies.  The only thing I can be sure of is clicking on "WEST" seems to make it a reflector behind the N-E and S-E facing dipoles.  Clicking on N-E doesn't really seem to improve signals to/from the Midwest and clicking on S-E doesn't really improve signals in
that direction.  Then again, KH6AQ called in on the N-E setting - GO Figure.

While there is probably more to say about this phenomenon in the future,
in 2025 I do not purport to have the answers.

Do YOU construct wire antennas?

What anomalies have YOU encountered?
