it is often NoT possible to make all 6 work effectively. For October 2o26, the following events
were on the calendar:
- [X] -
Makrothen RTTY Contest - [X] - Oceania DX Contest
- [X] -
Scandinavian Activity Contest - [X] - Arizona QSO Party
- [X] - PA QSO Party
- [X] - South Dakota QSO Party
I briefly wrote about this 6-contest weekend last year ([CLICK HERE] to read that.).
Various situations beyond my control, relegated the Makrothen RTTY and Scandinavian Ssb GiGs
to the bottom of the proposed operating heap. For this year's events, I was so hyper focused on operating Cw and QRP, little attention was given to Ssb and RTTY.

When it was all over, looking back, each contest activity created flurries of operating (for that event) interspersed with one of the other events, being mindful of which events ended at what time.
Case in point, the OCDX contest:
Case in point, the OCDX contest:
- The OCDX contest began at 06:00z with an overall 24-hour duration (ending at 05:59z).
WQ6X's QRP run happened in 3 batches:
- The 1st 3-hours on 40-meters
- Around 23:30z only KH6 worked - on 15-meters
- The final hours Saturday evening on 20-meters - The AZ, PA & SD QSO parties occupied the non-Oceania seeking time.
Fortunately, PAQP gave us a Sunday shot at things, as did SDQP (until 18:00z).
Overall, the above pictures tell the story of how this weekend ended up.
DiD YOU work any of the above contests?
Is WQ6X in YOUR LoG?
